It’s summer time again and it’s time for us Texan’s to start sweating our asses off and enjoy the lovely heat and sun torture.

Along with the summer come some great summer festivals. Starting this month with The Summer Slaughter tour. This one is definitely not to be missed. You even have an extra day to figure out if you can make it or not. In case you can’t make the Thursday June 18th show at the White Rabbit you can always show up at the Saturday June 20th show. Check out pages 18-19 for the list of bands highlighted on this year’s festival.

To Top off the middle of summer in July we have The Scream the Prayer Tour with Haste the Day and The Thrash and Burn Tour featuring Devildriver.

I hope you saved your pennies and am ready to be brutally hit in the face with wonderful heavy metal. Don’t wait till the last minute on these ones. Get your tickets now or I have a funny feeling you will be sitting outside wishing you were next to the stage.

Like many of you I will be trying to spend as much time with my family as possible. My son is almost eight and he is ready to hit the water parks. I’m not as energetic, I’m ready to try to relax and enjoy some of the lakes, rivers, and of course the coast. There’s nothing better than a cold beer and crashing waves on a beach…. Sorry forgot what I was doing…. Anyway, enjoy our issue and welcome to the summer of 2009.
